 Three Sounds of the Past Tense Spelling -ed:  /d/     /id/     /t/

This lesson consists of past-tense words (describing that something happened in the past) that are all spelled ending with -ed.  There are three different sounds for this past-tense spelling:  /d/   /id/     /t/     Sort these past-tense words according to how they sound.

Sort words having the /d/ past-tense sound like "prayed" under /d/.

Sort words having the /id/ past-tense sound like "waited" under /id/.

Sort words having the /t/ past-tense sound like "picked" under /t/.
