Contractions with NOT, IS, HAVE,  or  WILL

This lesson consists of word contractions with not, is, have, or will.  The apostrophe shows where letters have been omitted.  Notice when the "o" in not is left out, that's where the apostrophe goes;  when the "i" in is is left out the apostrophe takes the place of the "i".  When have is used in a contraction, the "ha" is left out and the apostrophe takes their place.  When will is contracted, the "wi" is left out and the apostrophe takes their place.

Note:  Think of the contraction of "would have".  It sounds like "would of".   The correct way to write it is "would've".  Remember to notice where the apostrophe goes!

Sort words contracted with not like "couldn't" under Not.

Sort words contracted with is like "here's" under Is.

Sort words contracted with have like "might've" under Have.

Sort words contracted with will like "she'll" under Will.
