ADDING -ing to WORDS with VCe and VCC PATTERNS


This lesson consists of words that can be categorized according to spelling patterns when adding -ing.

Sort root words that end with a vowel and consonant and silen -e (VCe) under VCe.

Sort root words that end with a vowel and two consonants (VCC) under VCC.

Sort words that drop the silent -e before adding -ing under e- drop.

Sort words that you can add -ing to without having to change the root word under nothing.

Sort words that don't fit any of these patterns under Oddballs.
