AMBIGUOUS VOWEL PATTERNS in ACCENTED SYLLABLES

OY / OI and OU / OW

This lesson consists of words that have oy/oi or ou/ow vowel sounds in the accented syllables.

Sort words that have the oi/oy sound in the 1st syllable like "voyage" under 1st oi/oy.

Sort words that have the oi/oy sound in the 2nd syllable like "destroy" under 2nd oi/oy.

Sort words that have the ou/ow sound in the 1st syllable like "drowsy" under 1st  ou/ow.

Sort words that have the ou/ow sound in the 2nd syllable like "announce" under  2nd ou/ow.
