SYLLABLE JUNCTURES


A syllable juncture is a term used to describe the point at which two syllables join.  Knowing the juncture of syllables helps us learn how to spell words.

The 1st jucture pattern is VCC/CV.  The word athlete fits this pattern and would be divided as ath*lete.  Sort words with this pattern under VCC/CV.

The 2nd juncture pattern is VC/CCV.  The word pilgrim fits this pattern and would be divided as pil*grim.  Sort words with this pattern under VC/CCV.

The 3rd juncture pattern is V/V .  The word create fits this pattern and would be divided as cre*ate.  Sort words with this pattern under V/V.

Sort words that don't fit any category under Oddball.
