1. Say each word aloud and listen to its beginning blend and short vowel sound.

2. Read each word silently and listen in your mind for the beginning blend and short vowel sound.

3. Write the words and cut them out.

4. Sort the words into four categories:  br-, gr-, tr-, and cr-
