This lesson has words having the short "a" sound.

1. Say each word aloud and listen to the short "a" sound.

2. Read each word silently and listen in your mind for the short "a" sound.

3. Write the words and cut them out.

4. Sort the words into two categories:  those ending in -an and those ending in -at.
