 Packing List Minimize

MUST BRING: Sleeping Bag, pillow, coat-hat-gloves (mandatory), modest pajamas, change of clothing (long pants, long sleeve shirt/sweatshirt, socks, underwear), second pair of shoes or boots (incase the first pair gets wet), toothpaste and toothbrush, water bottle or canteen, empty plastic water bottle or soda bottle between 16-20 oz. (for project).

DO NOT BRING:  cell phones (no service up there anyway, but a landline is available to teachers for emergency calls), shorts, sandals, MP3 players, toys, hand-held video games, snacks (we provide everything needed), candy.  Any of these items will be confiscated.

SLEEPING BAGS AND PILLOWS MUST BE CONTAINED IN A LARGE PLASTIC TRASH BAG, LABELED WITH STUDENT'S FULL NAME.

ALL ITEMS MUST BE IN A DUFFLE BAG or BACKPACK. 

OPTIONAL:  flashlight, inexpensive camera (no cell phone cameras allowed), sack lunch (unless you signed up to buy a school lunch for the 1st day up there)


    
 Clear Creek Information Minimize

CLEAR CREEK IS...an opportunity for 5th graders at Cedar Ridge Elementary to travel to a wonderful outdoor education center.  It is located up Spanish Fork Canyon and then two miles up Clear Creek Canyon beyond Scofield, Utah.  There are four student houses at Clear Creek, each equipped with electric heating and indoor plumbing.  Boys and girls attend Clear Creek separately.  For example, girls may leave Cedar Ridge at 8 a.m. on a Wednesday, stay overnight at Clear Creek that night, and leave Clear Creek at 11 a.m. Thursday morning.  Girls would be back by 2 p.m. on Thursday.  Boys would leave Cedar Ridge at 8 a.m. on Thursday, stay overnight at Clear Creek that night, and leave Clear Creek at 11 a.m. Friday morning.  Boys would be  back by 2 p.m. on Friday.

While at Clear Creek, students learn cooperative and team building skills as well as lessons in science, problem solving, and history of the area.  Clear Creek Outdoor Education Camp is open year-round for 5th grade students in Alpine School District.  It is the largest and most used camp of its kind in the State of Utah.  It has become the highlight of the 5th Grade school year for our students!

WHEN: Sep. 22-24, 2010    Girls will go on Sep. 22nd and return by 2 p.m. on Sep. 23rd.  Boys will leave on Sep. 23rd and return by 2 p.m. on Sep. 24th.

COST: $25 (make checks payable to Cedar Ridge Elementary)  This covers transportation, meals, snacks, supplies, and substitute teachers if needed.

FORMS REQUIRED: 1) Clear Creek Outdoor Education Camp Registration and Health Form, 2) Permission Slip and Lunch Survey
